  I found this is front of Target on Broad street while walking in the rain to an appointment at the optometrist. Dude, new glasses are expensive.   David Flanagan, of Milford, keeps the grounds at the Fairfield Memorial Park Cemetery on Oaklawn Ave. in Stamford on Monday. I saw this on the way into work today. I'm too caffeinated to try to think of something to write here, let alone come up with a headline other than what I slugged the photo...a combination of the words "Stamford" and "enterprise."   Chris Barron, the lead singer of the Spin Doctors, is reflected in a laminated poster near the stage while performing a solo act during a benefit for Family Centers at the Palace Theatre. The benefit concert at the Palace Theatre I was shooting tonight ran a little later than expected. After calling the copy desk and promising photos by 9:45, I ended up shooting perhaps 30 seconds – literally – of Suzanne Vega performing before sprinting back to my house to file. Now, I say sprinting, but it was more of a sprint, cramp, walk, sprint, cramp, walk cycle of embarrassment than anything ...

  I walked over to my polling location at the Yerwood Center to vote before 6 a.m. today. I figured I'd beat the crowds. Wholly unprepared for the hour-long line, I was glad to have spotted my neighbors Nancy and Paul and waited with them. The line snaked around the building and out the door into the parking lot. What stood out, however, was the sense that everyone here was more than happy to deal with this small inconvenience in order to exercise their civic duty. –CP

  Volunteer Pete Walsh, left, and Dawn Hogan, a City of Stamford employee, setup a polling location at K.T. Murphy Elementary School on Monday. Regardless of political affiliation, everybody I've talked to is clearly glad this excruciatingly long presidential campaign is almost coming to an end. So all you have to do now is get out and vote on Tuesday. KNOW: Your polling place. KNOW: The candidates and issues. VOTE: Polls open at 6 a.m. Tuesday Nov. 4th. –CP

BELOW: Archbishop Demetrios of America, center, carries holy relics during a procession for the consecration service at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Stamford. This morning I headed over to the Greek Orthodox church on Newfield Ave. for a consecration ceremony to be led by the leader of the Greek Orthodox Church in America, Archbishop Demetrios. It was a spectacularly crisp Autumn morning and gorgeous mid-morning light was abundant. The added bonus of nearly everything being gilded or handsomely embroidered didn't really hurt for photographic aesthetics either. –CP P.S. Check out my short post about the food on ...
