Le Pain Quotidien seemed a natural choice for a quick lunch following our coverage of the Smith College Used Book Sale where a reporter and I picked up books on Paris and food, respectively.
I had been to the new restaurant on Elm St. in New Canaan once before, to photograph it for our newspaper’s Go Section. It was snowing then, the dining room with its big, central, communal table was much less inviting than it was yesterday, bathed in the glorious [yet, apparently, fleeting] sunshine of early spring.
